Sustainable Fabric
SUSTAINABLE FABRIC
At ALAM, we believe in reducing the environmental impact of textiles by taking a holistic approach. That’s why we carefully choose fabrics that not only feel great but are also gentle on the skin and the planet. We prioritize natural, sustainable materials that offer comfort, breathability, and long-lasting wear, ensuring that every piece we create helps minimize our footprint while maximizing your comfort and style.
LINEN
Linen is made from natural fibers (flax) and does not require pesticides or chemicals like conventional cotton does. Known as a strong, durable, and absorbent fabric, linen is always used for summer clothing as it is comfortable, super breathable and it dries much faster than cotton. It also gets better with time, and is biodegradable.
ORGANIC COTTON
Organic cotton is made from natural fibers and grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment unlike conventional (normal) cotton. Ours are GOTS certified, so it has passed strict ecological and social criteria that is backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. Known to be very soft, comfortable and breathable. It doesn't use any pesticides or chemicals, and is biodegradable. You can view our GOTS certificate here.
TENCEL
TENCEL™ is a sustainable fabric made from wood pulp, primarily from eucalyptus, beech, and spruce trees. The fiber is produced using an eco-friendly closed-loop process, which recycles water and minimizes waste. TENCEL™ is known for its softness, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties, making it ideal for comfortable, long-lasting clothing. Additionally, it’s biodegradable and has a lower environmental impact compared to traditional fabrics like cotton or polyester.
